Rev Carolyn Frierson

Associate Minister

Reverend Carolyn Frierson was born in Johnston County, North Carolina.  She graduated as Salutatorian of her class at William M. Cooper High School in Clayton, North Carolina.  Rev. Frierson earned an Associate Degree in Industrial Management and an Associate Degree in Cosmetology with honors from both programs at Johnston Community College.  She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Religion from the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, North Carolina in 2014.

Rev. Frierson owned and operated Hair Choices Beauty Salon for over ten years.  She was employed by Cutter, Miles, Bayer, Talecris, and Grifols Pharmaceutical Company (same location, different names) retiring after forty-two years and six months of service. Carolyn began her tenure as a clerk in personnel and ended it as a Documentation Specialist in Quality Assurance.

Rev. Frierson felt the call of God on her life in the ministry in 2003, however she waited until the call was confirmed by those in charge of her spiritual growth.  She preached her initial sermon and was licensed to preach the gospel on December17, 2006, under the leadership of Elder Terrance Jenkins of Interstate Ministries in Clayton, North Carolina.  Carolyn was ordained on April 8, 2018 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Dumas A. Harshaw, Jr., former Pastor of First Baptist Church, Raleigh, North Carolina.

Rev. Frierson serves as minister for the Transitional Ministry (homeless).  She is a member of the Praise Team  and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Rev. Frierson fell in love with Jesus Christ and His word in Sunday School, therefore, she does not ever want to give up the learning, understanding and fellowship that is a part of Sunday School.

It is Carolyn's desire to always preach under the influence of the Holy Spirit which allows God's Word to be effectively conveyed.  One thing Carolyn is sure of, "Unless the Holy Spirit makes the Word of God alive in a heart, the feet will never walk consistently in His Word."

Carolyn has two daughters; Deborah and Jennifer;  she is the grandmother of Michael, Tiffany and Camryn.
